As you know, the first marathon you run cautiously and have a goal to finish. Speaking personally, the 2nd marathon I ran a pace I felt comfortable with, found LOTS of runners to chat with, and finished 30 minutes faster. The only bad thing was, I hit the wall around mile 20. But it made me a stronger and better runner knowing I conquered the dreaded wall and ran 26 miles. Great post, Lisa.
